Corinth's late work is of particular importance. Firstly, there are the Walchensee paintings, which were created from 1919 onwards near Urfeld in the south of Munich and in which the painter rediscovered landscape painting for himself. But he also sought and found new approaches in other subjects, such as portraits. The painting 'Flower Vase on a Table' from 1922 shows how another classic subject developed in his later years. A good decade earlier, he had created still lifes on canvas that still clearly emphasised their reference to the Old Masters and came in deep, Rembrandt-like shades of brown. Here, however, is a watercolour with dabbed, exploding colours and a scene that offers a private view of the still life genre. The edges of the picture framing the bouquet of flowers show an armchair on the right and a dog nestled in its basket on the left; in short, we see a retreat that promised the painter peace and relaxation. Original: 1922, watercolour, 36.5 x 57 cm, Graphische Sammlung Albertina, Vienna. Reproduction in fine art giclée process directly on artist's canvas and mounted on stretcher frame. Limited edition of 499 copies. Framed in natural-coloured solid wood frame. Format 55.5 x 77 cm (H/W).

This limited edition masterpiece by Feininger is produced using the elaborate collotype technique. This technique, which is very rare today and over 140 years old, makes it possible to depict true half-tones, i.e. to reproduce them completely and not through halftone dots of the primary colours. The valuable sheets bear witness to the highest level of artistic sensitivity during production. The result is colours that are true to the original, which art connoisseurs in particular desire and which also do justice to the sensitive colourfulness of Feininger's works. Original: Oil on canvas, Weimar Foundation, Bauhaus Museum. Eight colours on laid cardboard, limited edition of 500 copies. In a sophisticated solid wood frame with bevelled edge passe-partout, dustproof glazing. Format 84 x 99 cm.
During his stays at the Baltic Sea, Feininger also discovered the hinterland of the Rega estuary. The river framed the small town of Treptow in West Pomerania on three sides. The German-American painter constructed his picture from the medieval Grützturm tower, parts of the town wall and the neighbouring houses. But as present as the buildings may be, the blue of the river behind them and the bright sky penetrate the city motif. With his prismatic surfaces, Feininger visualises the intertwining of the different levels of perception. Original: oil on canvas, Hessisches Landesmuseum, Darmstadt. High-quality reproduction in a sophisticated solid wood frame with passe-partout, glazed. Size 82.7 x 71.2 cm (H/W).

Chagall's little night music: one of his most famous paintings, 'Le Violoniste Bleu', painted in 1947, is a magnificent example of his art: childhood memories from his Russian home village of Vitebsk are mixed with romantic motifs from Paris, the city of love. The laws of gravity are just as suspended in Chagall's work as central perspective or causality: the famous painter has the giant figure of the violinist hovering on a stool in the blue sky above the roofs of his home village of Vitebsk. The seat of the stool is folded into the picture plane. In contrast, the picture appears to be infinite in depth. A glowing bouquet of flowers appears beneath the moon, and three small birds settle on the flying musician. The moonlight bathes the scene in a silvery blue light, while the violinist plays a lovely night song to the world.
