With the house in Arles, van Gogh finally had space for his studio and paintings. Far away from the dreary Parisian winter and the confines of the big city, he was finally happy and discovered the colour yellow. Here in Provence, he drew new strength. This resulted in some famous views and the sunflower paintings. Original: 1888, oil on canvas, 76 x 94 cm, Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam.
