The sparing use of colour is characteristic of Renzo Vespignani's creative period in which this work was created (1975). He depicts 'The Twins' in pastel tones, ranging from light grey to anthracite, as a contribution to the series of prints 'The Signs of the Zodiac'. Using delicate shades of white and ochre, he traces the contours and highlights the double girl's face, which looks at the viewer and then ignores him with an absent, dreamy gaze into the distance. The depiction reveals the multi-layered nature of those born under this star sign, which makes them so enigmatic, but at the same time so interesting and attractive. Photolithograph in five colours, signed by the artist and numbered on the reverse. Limited edition of 5,000 copies. Sheet size approx. 28 x 21 cm (H/W).
