Max Slevogt (1868-1932) is often counted among the great German Impressionists along with Lovis Corinth and Max Liebermann. The fact that this simple attribution should be treated with caution became clear in 2018, when a major exhibition at the Landesmuseum Hannover presented the wide range of his work - as a painter, graphic artist, illustrator and stage designer - to mark his 150th birthday. According to Frank G. Kurzhals in 'Weltkunst', it finally showed him as an 'equilibrist between styles' and as a representative of 'an art that not only reproduces the visible, but also attempts to make it visible'. The following work 'The Parrot Man' was also exhibited; it comes from the Landesmuseum's collection. Original: 1901, oil on canvas, size 81 x 61 cm (H/W), property of the City of Hanover. Brilliant, authentic edition in a limited edition of 980 copies with numbered certificate on the reverse. Fine art giclée on artist's canvas made of 100% cotton, stretched on wooden stretcher frame.
