Happy homecoming: Klimt's portrait of a woman. Not only books, but also pictures have their fates. Klimt's 'Portrait of a Woman' even had a very special one, which turned out to be a happy one in the end. The work had disappeared from a private art gallery in Piacenza, Italy, over 23 years ago and had been considered lost ever since. In December 2019, wrapped in a bin liner and hidden in a dungeon in the wall of the gallery, it was finally rediscovered - and in perfect condition. Its authenticity has now been confirmed and it has returned to its original place. Original: 1916-18, oil on canvas, 42 x 33.8 cm. High-quality edition as fine art giclée on canvas, stretched on stretcher frame. Limited edition of 980 copies, with certificate. Framed in a white and gold solid wood frame. Format approx. 63.5 x 52 cm (H/W).
