Klimt's world-famous garden paintings (originals: Österreichische Galerie Belvedere, Vienna) were created in 1905-06 in Litzlberg am Attersee. The landscape paintings combine to create colourful scenes of harmonious unity, offering a view of the overwhelming beauty of gardens and meadows. These atmospheric cut-out reproductions were applied to canvas by hand and traditionally stretched on wooden frames. The visible linen structure emphasises the painting-like effect of these objects.
