Ernst Ludwig Kirchner: Picture 'Coffee Table' (1923), framed

Product information "Ernst Ludwig Kirchner: Picture 'Coffee Table' (1923), framed"

The treatment of Kirchner's work during the Nazi era is exemplary of National Socialist art policy: more than 600 of Kirchner's paintings were removed from museums. His 'Coffee Table' from 1923 bears witness to his preoccupation with Cubism in the perspective he chose, but is entirely Kirchner in its two-dimensional abstraction. It shows the family's conversation as a moment of intimate familiarity and serene calm and invites the viewer to join in, not least through its bright, warm colours. Original oil on canvas, Museum Folkwang, Essen. Brilliant reproduction in fine art giclée process on artist's canvas, mounted on a stretcher frame. Limited edition of 499 copies, with numbering and certificate on the reverse. Framed in a handcrafted real wood frame. Format 78 x 78 cm. Exclusively at ars mundi.
