Pablo Picasso: Picture 'Dora Maar' (1937), framed

Product information "Pablo Picasso: Picture 'Dora Maar' (1937), framed"

In the 1930s, Picasso often portrayed the talented photographer Dora Maar, who challenged him intellectually and with whom he had a rather problematic relationship. Picasso was a quarter of a century older than Dora, he was still married to Olga Koklova and had just become the father of a daughter by Marie-Thérèse Walter. Dora Maar was one of the few creative women in Picasso's circle and was even considered his intellectual equal. She assisted him while he was painting 'Guernica' - some of the brushstrokes are hers. In the portrait named after her, Dora Maar is depicted both en face and in profile, her ear glued to her eye and her mouth wearing a harmless little smile. The material value of the original is in the tens of millions. Frequency-modulated reproduction in six colours on 250g Zerkall handmade paper.
