Vincent van Gogh: Picture 'The red vineyard in Arles' (1888), framed

Product information "Vincent van Gogh: Picture 'The red vineyard in Arles' (1888), framed"

It is a myth that Vincent van Gogh was only able to sell one of his paintings during his lifetime, although a few were probably sold. However, 'The Red Vineyard in Arles' is the only one whose sale can be proven. However, van Gogh's brother and supporter Theo had already realised the importance of the painting. When the painter sent it to him together with other paintings, Theo expressed his enthusiasm in a letter dated 16 June 1889: 'There is a power of colour in all of them that you have not yet achieved', he commented and informed his brother that the 'Red Vineyard' had already found a place in his home.Original: 1888, oil on canvas, 75 x 93 cm, Pushkin Museum, Moscow.
