Even during his lifetime, 'The Eternal Wedding' was the painter's favourite subject: the admirer gallantly hands a bouquet of flowers to his beloved. At the urging of his collectors, Spitzweg painted the motif several times in slight variations.original: oil on canvas, privately owned. High-quality reproduction in fine art giclée technique, worked by hand in a patented process on artist's canvas and traditionally stretched on a wooden stretcher frame. The motif surface with a tangible and visible linen structure and additional hand-applied brush structure, modelled on the original, emphasises the painting-like effect of the object. Sealed with artist's varnish. In an exquisite handcrafted solid wood studio frame in antique platinum with reddish brown. Limited edition of 199 copies, with numbered certificate on the reverse.
