Claude Monet had the bridge in his garden modelled on a Japanese bridge. The water garden was nicknamed the 'Japanese Garden' primarily because of it. It was there that he was inspired to create several works entitled 'The Japanese Bridge'. Original: c. 1900, oil on canvas, 89.5 x 92.5 cm, Christie's, London. Edition transferred to artist's canvas using the fine art giclée process and stretched on a stretcher frame. Limited edition of 980 copies, numbered, with certificate. Framed in a handcrafted black and silver-coloured solid wood frame. Format 71 x 74 cm (H/W). ars mundi exclusive edition.
