Product information "Claude Monet: Picture 'Norwegian Landscape, Blue Houses' (1895), version framed in gold colour"

The art of Claude Monet epitomises Impressionism. Throughout his long life as a painter, he was tireless in his search for ways to depict the variability of light and colour in many atmospheric variations and at different times of day. His main subject matter was mainly southern European and British landscapes. However, few people realise that Claude Monet also spent several months in Norway. In February 1895, Monet arrived in Kristiania (Oslo) to visit his stepson. Monet wanted to experience the Norwegian winter and depict it in his works.
