Claude Monet: Picture 'In the Park Monceau' (1878), framed

Product information "Claude Monet: Picture 'In the Park Monceau' (1878), framed"

Monet loved gardens and always found artistic inspiration here. Even in Paris, his path led him to the city's parks and green spaces, such as the Parc Monceau in the 8th and 17th arrondissements, which provided him with numerous motifs. In June 2009, this painting was sold to a collector at Christies in London for £5.6 million (EUR 7.4 million), making it the most expensive painting at this auction. Original oil on canvas, privately owned. Brilliantly coloured fine art giclée on artist's canvas in a stretcher frame; the wooden wedges allow the canvas to be re-stretched in the event of temperature and humidity fluctuations. Real wood gallery framing. Limited to 499 copies, with certificate. Format 73 x 62 cm (H/W).
