This painting goes back to the now legendary trip to Tunis, which August Macke undertook together with Paul Klee and Louis Moilliet in April 1914. Macke was overwhelmed by the light and the intense colours of North Africa. His watercolour of the town of Hammamet is also dominated by the bright and contrasting colours. Original: 1914, watercolour, pencil on paper and cardboard, 21 x 26.5 cm, inv. no. KdZ 4789 LM, LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur, Münster. High-quality edition in fine art giclée process on paper.
