Product information "August Macke: Picture 'Am Thuner See I' (1913), framed"
Like many other artists of his time, Macke was fascinated by the landscape of Lake Thun. He was particularly fascinated by the beauty of the Swiss mountains - especially the Niesen with its pyramid shape - and the play of colours in the water. It was here that Macke developed his own style of painting, characterised by strong abstraction and his own vibrancy. Original: 1913, watercolour and gouache on cardboard, Kunstmuseum, Mühlheim an der Ruhr. Reproduction in fine art giclée process on artist's canvas, stretched on stretcher. Limited edition of 499 copies, numbered on the reverse. Framed in black silver solid wood moulding. Format 68.6 x 86.3 cm (H/W).
